Back in March, I bought an early-bird ticket to Horizons 2015: Perspectives on Psychedelics in NYC, Oct. 9th - 11th. I thought it'd be a cool way to celebrate my 45th birthday, but turns out I'm unable to attend. Horizons' DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:"Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics is an annual forum that examines the role of psychedelics in science, healing, culture and spirituality. In recent years, a growing community of scientists, doctors, artists, activists, seekers and scholars have orchestrated a renaissance in psychedelic thought and practice. Horizons brings together the brightest minds and the boldest voices of this movement to share their research, insights and dreams for the future." So, my loss is your gain! I don't imagine there will be a ton of takers on this offer, but if you are interested in this event and are fairly certain you can attend, contact me here. Tell me why you want to go, and what you hope to get from the experience. The first real-feeling answer gets the full pass, transferred into your name. I'm excited, and curious, to see which psychonauts bite ;-) The only condition... if something happens and you can't go, don't let the ticket go to waste. Please pass it forward in that case. Thanks! Let's close with something we must be unafraid to ask: "Instead of all of this energy + effort directed at the war to end drugs, how about a little attention to drugs which will end war?" (Albert Hofmann, Swiss Chemist) If that earnest question makes sense to you... stirs or troubles something in you... this might be a great conference for you to attend! On behalf of cognitive liberty, Erika. Comments are closed.

The question "How are you?" is PROFOUND. But it has been watered-down to a synonym for "Hello." Forced or fake auto-responses of obligated okay-ness are expected. (And if you are going through something tragic, it really doesn't matter! Every social encounter OPENS with this well-established Ritual of Insincerity.) The question "How are you?" prompts an answer that begins with "I AM _____________." This means many times each day, you are invited to SPEAK THE MOST POWERFUL STATEMENT that can be spoken of yourself. And the socially-expected thing to do, is be QUICK + SLICK with your answer. For a change... TAKE YOUR TIME, and tell your truth. ✍🏾 |
