You are harsh, and intense. Like direct sunlight, at noon. This light doesn't flatter, like the "golden hour" around 5pm. Or candlelight on a dinner-table shared with someone you love. No, this light is nearly blinding. It reveals everything. And scorches lots of things. It is not okay to scorch our children, though. To abuse them with normalized suffocation. To torture them with systematized insanity. To off-load our unconfronted fears directly onto their precious development. If we weren't willing or able TO STAND for ourselves against the many obstacles that have been hurled thus far, will we at least stand for our children this fall? I'm so proud of my visionary friend, Dayna, who wrote Radical Unschooling nearly a decade before the world completely lost its mind. It's the only humane option I see.
